WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT SOL...

RECENT YELP REVIEWS:

"Definitely a FAN. Service was superb. Really nice staff. The atmosphere is also lovely. Made us feel like we were at an authentic mexican restaurant in Mexico or anywhere but Jersey.  We started off with chips and salsa (amazing chips!!!) and guacamole. I had veggie enchiladas (corn & spinach) with a chipotle sauce on top. The chipotle sauce was really delicious.

Go visit Sol and decide for yourselves. We were definitley glad we did."               K.P. - 3/15

"Another great experience at SOL! This has become our family standard for birthdays. Great beer selection, awesome sangria and authentic food. Very child friendly also. The price, you'll be surprised at what you get for your $. This trip our experience was so nice, I sought out the manager to offer my compliments."               MICHAEL A. - 2/15

"Awesome food - everything was fresh. Great drinks too. Great staff - server was awesome!"                       JON S. -1/15

"Carnita pork burrito was excellent, lots of tender tasty pulled pork and the sauce was delicious. Server was attentive and the cervezas were replaced as soon as our bottles were empty (impressive considering the place was packed). Spicy verde sauce was awesom. Overall, a very cool place to visit if you like Tex-Mex cuisine, nice seating area upstairs, happenin' bar atmosphere downstairs with sports on the TVs and an outdoor seating area for the summer months."             MARC S.  - 11/14

"The Mahi Mahi Tacos are amazing and the portions are big. The real gem here, howver, are their chips and guacamole, which they prepare table side and to your liking. The service is great and the ambience is chill. Nice spot!       JENNIFER S.  - 9/14

"This is a diamond in the rough type of place. When we want good food and drinks, we ALWAYS come here. The kids, adults and grand-sdults all love it here.

If you can handles spicy and hot, ask them to kick it up a notch and you'll be sweating bullets.

The variety of the entrees is fantastic, the qua;ity of food is as authentic as we are going to get on the East Coast. Highly recommend this place, if you want good food, and a great selection of drinks.

For large parties, I recommend calling ahead for reservations. The place can get very busy on the weekends."           AMY C.  - 9/14

NJ MONTHLY RESTAURANT REVIEW -

Ashley J. Cerasaro  - 10/4/09

STYLE:

Warm, upscale Mexican restaurant with full service bar, lively music, friendly service and outdoor seating.

DON"T MISS:

Start your meal with grande nachos, a considerable serving of corn chips topped with onions, fresh chopped tomatoes, jalapenos, refried beans and melted cheddar and Jack cheeses.  The newly revamped menu boasts fifteen different burritos. The Yucatan is generously stuffed with shredded chicken, refried beans, Mexican rice, cheddar and Jack cheeses and sauteed onions and peppers. My personal favorite is the Tequila Lime Garlic Shrimp Burrito, packed with stewed marinated shrimp, Mexican rice and black beans. If you want a fuller plate, try one of SOL's signature dishes. The Chicken Mole is made with chef Juan Paisano's traditional mole sauce, which is made from dried chilies, Mexican chocolate and Mayan spices paired with Mexican rice and pinto beans. End your meal with two large scoops of SOL's homemade fried ice cream, coated in cereal and deep-fried.

HEADS UP:

SOL is typically packed on weekends, but accepts reservations for parties of six or more (call aheads are accepted). The private parking lot provides ample spots in front and back of building.

THE SCOOP:

There are bar specials every day. Monday get a bucket of 5 Coronitas for $7. Tuesday is hal price Mexican bottled beers and half off sangria. Thursday all house margaritas are $2 and pints of SOL are $2 every day. (Some specials apply to bar area only).
